Our Thanksgiving minus a sick Grandma

This was our Thanksgiving group this year. My Mom was sick and didn't want to get Dad sick so she stayed home. I picked Dad up from the AL and Megan came over for a nice yummy Thanksgiving dinner. Dad did great and enjoyed getting out. We missed the other three girls in Idaho but they had fun being together. Mom was sad but wanted to keep Dad well so she stayed home. We missed her but all in all we had a nice Thanksgiving. Now on to Christmas. Below are some other pic Megan took. Thanks again Megan for everything!

Our yummy dinner! Thanks Megan for all the pictures.

Me and Megan, if I didn't post this she would be mad but I hate pictures of myself.

Megan and her Dad. If only his eyes were open! We loved having Megan with us on Thanksgiving.

Date Day in Amish Country

Well I really messed this post up but hey I'll learn. So the Mr. and I went to Amish today we had a wonderful time the pictures are below in the incorrect order I believe but hey I'll get it right one of these times. It was the start of Christmas for us, we bought some gifts at Wendall August and that's all I'm saying.

After Wendall August we had dinner at The Amish Door. I love Amish it is so quite and beautiful. The food is very simple but good, we were stuffed full of salad, my favorite is the kidney bean salad, dad's is the pickled beets, then chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans and to top it all off graham cracker pudding. It was a nice relaxing afternoon

I just realized I did this backwards sorry - start at the bottom :)

After the bakery we went to Wendall August

Today my sweetheart and I went on a "Date Day" instead of "Date Night". We had a wonderful time down in Amish. We stopped at a sweet Amish bakery it was about 3:30 and pretty dark in the bakery but they lit the kerosene lamps and it was all good. The bakery was so clean, smelled wonderful and we got some yummy goodies)

A Wonderful Weekend

General Conference was wonderful this weekend. The music was moving the talks inspirational. May we all be better people full of love one for another and deepen our desire to increase our spirituality. I can't wait for the Ensign so I can study each talk more in depth. We are so blessed to have a Prophet on the earth today. Be happy, show love and compassion to those you meet along the way. May we each enjoy the life we have been blessed with.

I added a few new blogs I love Our Best Bites they have some great recipes and I am always a sucker for a new recipe. Confessions of a Pioneer Women is a lot of fun to read. We leave tomorrow to take Kelli and Lindsey to BYUI. It's bittersweet, I know Kelli enjoys school and misses her roommates and it is new begining for Lindsey but we will now be an empty nest. I'm glad I now serve in the Ward and in the Young Women's it will keep me busy and less lonely. I took some pictures the other day but can't figure out how to post them, while we are at Donna and Matt's I'll get her to show me how. This blogging is fun but man I have to set a timer or I'll be on here all day. Off to class then home to pack. See you soon Donna!

School Daze

Well I have 1 more class left this week. What a week! I am feeling very blessed for this opportunity and fairly overwhelmed also. It has been about 28 years since I have been in a class room, some things are still the same some so very different. Technology is amazing, kids still talk while the professor is trying to lecture, still lots of homework, I am actually keeping up with. It is exciting to learn and grow and tiring for this old gal. More to come later on each class but I have to go to bed I have an early class tomorrow. Not really early just far away. Lindsey said it sounds so funny to hear her mother say she has to go do homework. I agree.

Having Fun

So I am having fun trying new things with the blog. Today I removed the background, added some blog addresses I visit and changed the picture. Yeah me. The picture is from when Randy and I visited Barry and Faye in Palm Springs. View of their back yard. Wish it was my back yard. :)

Long Night

I really need to get motivated cleaning. I just can't seem to. The girls are both gone Kelli is babysitting and Lindsey is at a friends. Randy is at work and I should be working here at home. We went to the fair twice this week. It was fun, I haven't been to the fair in a few years we sat and watched horse shows, went to all the buildings, had 4H milkshakes, fair fries, sausage sandwiches, and gyros. I still remember Devin and Donna in the pedal tractor pull. Fun times. The girls and I talked about how I use to be at the fair every day when I was on the Junior Fair Board and in FHA (Future Homemakers of America) way back in high school. Its been hard loosing my job but it is shared unhurried times like this week that it is such a blessing. I can't believe I will be starting school again in a little over a week. YIKES! Well I should get cleaning I guess.
